Even Today, I see people preferring drawing or sketching the house and it’s design. If you may think that CAD software are too much expensive, the competition of outsourcing today gives CAD in lower rates than before.

Architectural rendering, architectural illustration or architectural visualization are the same thing!!

But, if only CAD is sufficient to build my home, why should you prefer Architectural Visualization? Why prefer 3D over 2D? Both of them are used in Interior Design, Exterior Design and Landscape. It may seem at first that you are wasting money over 3D modelling and 3D rendering, but it is not so.

Here’s 10 Reasons you should prefer Architecture Visualization

Preciseness

As, 3D Modelling is based on the CAD software, the precision of CAD continues to move forward. Not only, does it take the floor and elevation dimensions in account, 3D Visualization takes into consideration all the X, Y and Z axis dimensions of the object. Hence, even furniture that has a miniscule size, can be placed correctly in the Architectural Visualization. Large scale projects require optimal preciseness, and henceforth these 3D techniques are almost mandatory for these type of architecture builds.

Material and Color Selection

Some architects or clients choose the materials and colours before starting the construction work. However, most of them do not have an idea of what to choose for better looks or less cost. 3D renders can provide the texture files of the materials used and can also provide the RGB value/ Color naming of the colours used in the images. Hence, the clients have the flexibility to choose the materials/ colours/ panelling and cladding of their choice.

Furniture Selection

One of the major advantages of 3D Visualization is furniture selection. When the home builder is going to choose a furniture, they cannot simply choose the furniture that enhances the look and functionality. The applications that do Architecture Visualization have a wide variety of furniture prebuilt, that keeps every aspect in mind. Even if they do not have some kind of furniture, it can be built using furniture modelling.

False Ceiling/ Truss

There is a variety of false ceiling considering the size, shape and materials of them. It gets cumbersome to go through each option and select one that optimizes your ROI. Also, the more complex the design of false ceiling is, the ROI may decrease accordingly because the cost increases. Using 3D, one can recreate the false ceilings of desire and shorten the wide range of selection to the optimal set of ceilings they want to go with. Furthermore, 3D allows user to choose the appropriate amount of glossiness/ reflection of the materials.

Easy Amendments and Less Errors

From the very beginning of the design process, 3D visualisation makes it straightforward to spot flaws and design problems that may be quickly fixed or replaced with a suitable alternative. 3D rendering and architectural visualisation can be used to examine building or structural plans before they are built. Finalisation of to-be-used materials, reducing design flaws, upgrading or downgrading a design, avoiding clashes or conflicts in the design, assessing its sustainability, and so on can all benefit from such notions.

Effortless Government Approvals

Your project’s acceptance is determined by how well you convey your project model. Traditional means of presentation, such as PowerPoint presentations and detailed sketches, were less efficient before the arrival of 3D Visuals. Because the structures and developments are ‘uncertain,’ local governments frequently reject them. The use of 3D animation and visualisation creates an accurate and realistic model that eliminates ambiguity and increases the likelihood of public acceptance.

Landscaping / Surroundings

Not sure what and where the plantations will be done in your new home? Eliminate the confusion, by choosing the right plantations with their placement in 3D Rendering.

Houses can have different surroundings based on different locations. Surroundings also impact the layout of the house. As usual, 3D will come to aid for this task.

Flexibility According to your Needs

Depending on your need of high quality, speedy rendering or less budget; you can outsource/ choose the software accordingly. Modelling software like Revit, Sketchup and 3ds Max are industry standard. Similarly, rendering software like V-Ray, Lumion, Corona, Enscape provides wide range of functionality. There are some software like Cedreo and Sweet home 3D, which do not even need expertise in architecture.

Future Ready with AR and VR

Architects can now construct designs that the client can not only see but also live in. 3D models are taken to the next level with AR and VR. Users can walk through the design, examine every element of the building, sense its actual dimensions (height, width, etc. ), explore a specific space at different times of the day, and so on, using these technologies. This provides more clarity, which can help architects win over clients while also assisting clients in making the best option possible.

Overall Cost Reduction

The value that Architectural Visualization provides, is much higher than it’s cost. It doesn’t matter if the project is a huge one or a minor one, all the above mentioned points apply to both; giving a better value.

The technology utilised for 3D rendering has seen a significant cost reduction in recent years. Because most people now have access to this technology, it is a cost-effective solution.
